Title An interdisciplinary, intercultural and multilingual project: the new Southern African music education dictionary
Abstract This paper presents an outline of a new lexicographical project in South Africa involving the compilation of an intercultural, multilingual muslc education dictionary. The formulation of goals is discussed briefly, and some specific problems. These are: the language(s) of presentation, the way in which the information should be presented, the total absence of certain terms in some cultures, and differences in conceptualization in different cultures. Some organizational aspects are mentioned briefly.
