Title L’émergence d’une thématisation lexicale sur les sons au XVIIIe siècle
Abstract At the crossroads of the Eighteenth and the Nineteenth Centuries, the Encyclopédie Méthodique (1782-1832) of Charles-Joseph Panckoucke was conceived like a revised, a corrected and an enlarged edition of the Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné (1751-1777) of Diderot and d'Alembert. Badly known, this work nevertheless introduced an important epistemological mutation. By taking as study framework the theories of sounds in one of its dictionaries, the Grammaire & Littérature ( 1782-1786) dictionary, we wanted to enhance this encyclopaedia. In this paper we describe the grammarian Nicolas Beauzée's work - in charge of the grammatical part of this dictionary - in the creation of a lexicon of sounds. Our conclusions were obtained by comparing three Beauzée's scientific contributions, which are his grammatical articles in the Dictionnaire raisonné (1751-1772), his Grammaire générale (1767), and his important work in the Grammaire & Littérature (1782-1786) dictionary from the Encyclopédie Méthodique.
