Title Lessicografia in aree complesse: il caso di Grosseto
Abstract Within the lively lexicographic activity relative to the Tuscan area (Italy), the southern dialectal variety of Grosseto has been only partially explored. In this paper are traced the specific reasons that induce to consider this area a "complex" one from the linguistic point of view, that is strictly linked to historical, cultural and ethno-demographic aspects (in particular the recent city forming and the continuous demographic flows). A proposal for a dialectal dictionary is presented accordingly, taking into account the linguistic specificities, highlighting and showing evidences of the lexical peculiarities of this urban variety "of transition" and reflecting upon the methodological instruments required for this research.
