Abstract |
This paper discusses two aspects of an experimental terminological repository, called COGNITERM, which is a hybrid between a conventional term bank and a knowledge base. The first aspect is our methodology, essentially a blend between conventional terminology practise and knowledge engineering techniques and technology. The second aspect is the advantages that a terminological knowledge base offers over a conventional term bank, in terms of the data itself, as well as support for acquiring and retrieving the data. Our paper is illustrated with examples from COGNITERM and TERMIUM III. |
