Abstract This paper presents the results of our research on a group of electronic French-Italian, Italian-French dictionaries on CD-Rom-DIF, Boch, Garzanti Clic, and Garzanti interattivo. We examine whether the characteristics of the electronic support can influence the access to the fixed sequences. This work deals particularly with the importance of diversified typography and new types of complex search - e.g. full-text search - which are now available for dictionary users.
