Title Passive vs. Active Dictionary. A Revision
Abstract The paper is devoted the problem passive vs. active dictionary. It is an attempt to prove that neither out of practical nor theoretical considerations it is appropriate to compile large bilingual dictionaries A ^ B and B ^ A purely passive or purely active: they ought to be bidirectional, i.e. intended for users both with mother tongue A and mother tongue B.
