Title Encoding data on lexicalization of semantic components: the EuroWordNet ‘relational’ model
Abstract In this paper we discuss the approach being followed to encode data on lexicalization patterns of semantic components in verb roots, within the framework of the EuroWordNet project We focus on how the relational model of the EuroWordNet database is being 'used' to encode information on the semantics of Italian verbs. First, we provide some general information on the linguistic design of the semantic database we are building. Then, the kind of information which is being encoded for Italian verbs is discussed in detail, by taking into consideration semantic/syntactic verb classes. Furthermore, we also refer to theoretical and computational uses of the data on lexicalization patterns we are encoding.
