Title Metaphorical Internet Terms in English and French
Abstract This paper examines metaphorical terms that are used in the domain of the Internet. We begin by identifying the principal conceptual and structural characteristics of metaphorical terms in English. Next, we identify the various strategies currently being used to render these terms in French. Finally, we examine a variety of linguistic and extra-linguistic factors that complicate this rendering.
